Mark Wingett is best known for his 21 years and 784 episodes in his role as Jim Carver in the Bill.
With a 40 year career of stage, film and TV work, Mark is one of the most recognisable faces in British television.
Mark has appeared in most popular UK TV programmes, including Eastenders, Heatbeat, Hollyoaks, Missing and Doctors as well as major film releases including Snow White and The Huntsmen, Green Street 3 and the cult classic Quadrophenia.
Mark’s latest film release was A Reason To Leave which won Best Drama at the National Film Awards and for which he won Best Lead Actor at the Milan International Film Festival.
Mark has recently completed filming the leading role in a new British crime feature, King of Crime due for release this year. Mark began his career in theatre and loves to return between filming assignments, performing in productions as diverse as Ray Cooney’s Run For Your Wife and the fabulous Maggie’s End.
Claire gained notoriety early in her career by playing manipulative Kim Tate in Emmerdale for almost a decade from 1989 to 1998, winning numerous awards including Best Bitch in Soap at the Inside Soap Awards and an award for Best Exit in 1999 at the British Soap Awards. Breaking from type, she followed this with a guest appearance in the sitcom Babes in the Wood alongside Denise Van Outen. From 1999 -2004 she took the part of G-Wing Governor Karen Betts in prison drama Bad Girls for which she won Best Actress at the TV Quick Awards for two years in succession.
Claire has appeared in many other popular TV drama series including Hollyoaks, Doctors, Holby City, The Royal, Dalziel & Pascoe, Casualty & was famously partnered with Brendan Cole in BBC1’s hit reality series Strictly Come Dancing in 2006.
In addition, Claire has lent her familiarly husky voice to a number of television & radio programmes as well as advertisements & listening books. Claire has starred on stage in the Vagina Monologues alongside Jerry Hall & Only Fools & Horses actress Sue Holderness, The Naked Truth & Fetish Knights. She appeared in the BBC 3 comedy The Gemma Factor playing a character called Betty – described as a cross between Patsy from Ab Fab & Lady Ga Ga! Most recently, Claire walked the famous cobbles of Coronation Street as Erica Holroyd for 2 1/2 years and has appeared as a guest panellist on Loose Women. She has also starred in the films A Reason to Leave released December 2016 & King of Crime due for release Autumn 2018.
Claire enjoys writing & released her autobiography “Confessions of a Bad Girl” in 2007 and has also written for several womens’ magazines. Aside from acting & writing, Claire is also a keen horse rider. She held an amateur jockey’s license, owns two racehorses & used to ride out for a few trainers as well as taking part in a number of charity races. She presented a documentary for This Morning on the plight of the horses in Lesotho in aid of World Horse Welfare.
Rachel is best known for playing Albert Square regular, Poppy Meadow in EastEnders (BBC). Recent credits include, Filth And Fury (SkyArts), the world Premier of ‘JOY’ (Theatre Royal Stratford East) and a National tour of Agatha Christies’ ‘A Murder Is Announced’.
Other credits – Doctors (BBC), Dracula (Action To The Word) and Sometimes The Moon Is Velvet (Melies Films) which won an array of awards in the US, Joe Mistry (Heartwood Films), Red Balloon (Pseudo Productions) and Bus Stop Kisser (Action To The Word). Rachel also recieved a Best Comedy Actress nomination from the Portland Comedy Film Festival for her performance in ‘Morning After’.
Nicholas got his big break as an actor when he landed the role of Xander Harris on the hugely successful TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1996). The series ran from 1997 until 2003, garnering a huge cult following as well as a large fanbase for Brendon. Brendon and brother Kelly appeared together in the episode “The Replacement”, in which Xander has to cope with having a seemingly sinister double. His first major role in a feature film came with the Charles Busch satire Psycho Beach Party (2000). Brendon has also starred in the ABC Family Channel original movie Celeste in the City (2004). Brendon is a spokesperson for the Stuttering Foundation of America, appearing in a print campaign for the organization.
Vas Blackwood is an actor, known for Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels(1998), Creep(2004) and Mean Machine(2001)
Vas has been a popular face of film and TV screens for many years now and is also known fr his roles in Guvnors, Essex Boys Retribution, The Bill, Fools and Horses and many more.
Jonno has recently returned from spending six months in New York, leading the critically acclaimed production of A Clockwork Orange as the notorious Alex DeLarge. In addition to receiving rave reviews, he was the only actor listed by The New York Times as one of ‘Tomorrow’s Marquee Names’. His other theatre credits include Shakespeare In Love (West End), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (National Theatre Riverside) and the title role in Dracula (Edinburgh Festival). His TV and film credits include Kingsman: The Secret Service, Hollyoaks, Spotless, Casualty and Doctors.
Christopher worked in the Merchant Navy, trained as a Graphic Designer and worked as a minicab driver. First drama job was Assistant Stage Manager at the Richmond Theatre. First acting role was in the play “Woman in a Dressing Gown” at said theatre. First break was a guest appearance in The Sweeney (1975). When he first appeared in The Bill (a guest role in episode 1) his character was called Tommy Burnside, but by the time he emerged as a regular character he had become Frank Burnside! This was because, by the time he joined the series as a regular, a real police officer named Tommy Burnside was serving in the Metropolitan Police and as a result, the producers of The Bill had to change the character name.
Zed Josef’s recent work includes “Leviathan” (Shezad Dawood), “Flasher” (Robert M. Cluesman), “Marco” (Saleem Haddad) and in the TV Series “Tyrant” (FOX).
After years of stage experience in his younger years in everything from Pantomimes to Ray Cooney farces, Greg followed his passion for film and TV by finally getting around to training in acting for the screen.
He has enjoyed a wide variety of walk-on roles to small featured parts in numerous TV series, commercials and films – often in police or military roles. Personal highlights include working with Julie Walters, and the work he did on several series of BBC TV’s ‘Spooks’.
His favourite actor is Jack Lemmon, his favourite film is probably ‘JAWS’, Greg’s favourite biscuit is the humble Digestive, and his favourite colour is orange.
Lisa is an actress and Producer, known for her appearances in the popular TV series Humans(2015), Grantchester(2014) and the C5 ‘Inside’series of programs.
Lisa played the lead in the features BODIESand DEAD HEADING, which is currently in Post Production.
Francesca is a “small but feisty” stage and screen actress from Oxfordshire. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama from Exeter University she travelled across the pond to various acting schools including the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles and The Groundlings to continue her training. Since then she has had a steadily growing resume of diverse credits primarily in independent feature and short length films; including thriller ‘Fractured Minds’ from 2025 Films & written by ‘King of Crime’ Scriptwriter and Producer Linda Dunscombe, and rom-com ‘What Goes Up’ from GSProductions and ‘King of Crime’ Director Matt Gambell.
Hainsley is an accomplished actor of stage and screen. Having played both Othello & Henry V on stage as well as performing on screen in multiple episodes of Eastenders and Casualty. After performing alongside Ray Winstone & Colin Farrell in London Boulevard, Sci Fi feature CTRL as well as King of Crime marks a first step in to leading man cinematic territory for the promising actor.
Since becoming a professional actor Bryn has been involved in short films, documentaries, corporate videos, music videos and has appeared on stage at the Actors Church in Covent Garden and has completed 3 feature films. Bryn is a baritone, an avid guitar player and drummer and his many varied skills include all sports, motorcycling, juggling, cooking and plastering!!
Bryn lives in Hampshire with his wife and two children, who he says are his reason for being. He also recently obtained his Private Hire driving licence to help him more easily access London to continue his training and attend workshops and auditions.
Bryn truly believes that if you want something enough and are prepared to work very hard to achieve it, then anything is possible. Having become an actor at the age of 45 he is testament to that and is very much looking forward to what the future has in store.
Richard Summers-Calvert– Director/Writer/Actor
As well as being the managing director of Crucible Films Ltd, Richard is a multi-award winning Director, creating several award winning films in the past three years. Richard is currently in pre-production for two feature length films.
Richard is also a multi-award winning actor. He started his professional acting career by jumping straight into touring theatre with the Lincoln based company Zest Theatre. Soon after he started focusing on Film and TV work, landing roles in films such as ‘The Dark Kingdom’ (the second film of the ‘Order of Kings’ trilogy), as well as ‘King of Crime‘ as ‘Dexter’ which stars Claire King (Coronation St, Emmerdale), Vas Blackwood (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), Mark Wingett (The Bill, Quadraphobia) and Nicholas Brendon (Buffy The Vampire Slayer). His most recent release is the lead role in the feature film ‘Fox Trap’ starring Klariza Clayton (Skins) which has obtained a worldwide distribution deal and will be released later this year.
“While still fresh to the industry, Jack has been cast as the screen villein in several movie roles. He’s currently filming a new horror film as the lead antagonist, a brutal Russian mafia boss. His TV credits include playing returning character Ian Cooke in the BBC1 drama Doctors and a moody bouncer in the hit Channel 4 comedy Chewing Gum.”
Makenna is an award nominated screen actress with numerous credits to her name. Most recently, she has taken on the lead role in award winning director Emiliano Ranzanis’ latest feature ‘Bloodbags’, which filmed in Turin, Italy, and has preliminary distribution deals in several territories. She has also just wrapped principal photography playing ‘Jade’in Dark Temple Motion Pictures latest feature‘The Barge People’. Both films are set for 2018 release.
She is currently training with The Actors Class, which is run by Mary Doherty in central London. Alongside her fast developing acting career, Makenna loves to travel, and has completed successful treks both up Mount Kilimanjaro and to Everest base camp.
“Benji Dotan is a versatile actor and writer with various projects under his belt, both in front of the camera and behind it. He has appeared in feature films and sitcom pilots including a few that he has written himself. He started 2018 with some good news about a 4 year project that he co-wrote and developed called “A Billion to One: The Noah Jones story” which has just been released on Amazon Prime. Benji specialises in comedy but feels comedy, as well as performing in general, has helped him express a range of emotions and characteristics that can enable him to delve into more intense and involving roles. He likes to understand human emotion and how people interact with the world and the environment which he feels make his characters have more depth and layers. Benji is excited about the release of King of Crime which is the second collaboration he has worked on with some of the actors and crew.”
GRANT KEMPSTER is an actor and writer who has enjoyed a varied career on both stage and screen. After a short run of Chekov’s The Seagull, Grant took on the role of romantic lead in the feature FRACTURED MINDS (2015) along with more recent appearances in the upcoming features THE BRINK, DEAD HEADING and the horror film, MOLLY.
Grant is also an accomplished graphic designer with some 25 years of industry experience which he put to use in creating the poster and sales materials for King of Crime.
